This curriculum provides a complete set of training materials to prepare first responders for certification at the awareness level using the IFSTA Awareness Level Training for Hazardous Materials, 2nd Edition, as the primary text. It meets the awareness portion of NFPA 472, 2002 and the Emergency Responder Guidelines prepared by the Office of Domestic Preparedness. Information unique to Canada is clearly identified.
The curriculum includes the resources needed to effectively teach awareness level classes. You may print out copies of student materials such as the assignment sheets, skills sheets, and tests.

This curriculum is customizable to meet local needs. All the files are in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint® to facilitate customization. The CD-ROM contains a "Preview" version of the curriculum with links in the lessons to the appropriate PowerPoint® slides.
