This manual exceeds the requirements of Section 4-4.1 of NFPA 1001, Standard on Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications (1997 Edition); addresses the requirements of Sections 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4, 3-5, and all of Chapter 6 of NFPA 1006, Standard for Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications (2000 Edition); and addresses the requirements of Chapters 2 and 6 of NFPA 1670, Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Rescue Incidents (1999 Edition). It is illustrated with hundreds of photos and illustrations.
Considering that vehicle extrication incidents occur everywhere that land-based vehicles operate, there is a critical need for all rescue personnel to be fully aware of the challenges they face. If rescue personnel are to perform extrications safely and efficiently, they need the most up-to-date information and training available.
