The curriculum Student Applications Workbook contains study activities and 26 hands-on student applications (Job Sheets and Practical Activity Sheets). In addition, each lesson unit in the Student Applications Workbook contains a self-instruction module called a LAP (Learning Activity Package). These open-entry, open-exit, self-paced, self-instruction components enable individuals to work their way independently through the course with minimal instructor involvement. Thus, LAPs are particularly useful in volunteer departments and those situations that do not merit a formal instructor-led class. The instructor and student jointly determine the objectives and applications that must be learned for each chapter, and then the student works independently and submits work for instructor evaluation. |
